Who can’t feel for the poor girl in the NatWest TV ad who rescues the forgotten £1 coin from the supermarket trolley and conjures up all kinds of magic with it before boring ol’ Dad takes it off her with barely a word of gratitude.

The ad was shown so frequently on TV in the new year that I thought that if she’d got £1 every time it was shown, she wouldn’t have to worry much about university tuition fees in 10 years’ time.

A quick internet search indicates that the actor is Talulah Conabeare and also can be seen in ads for Tesco’s F&F range, Hilton Hotels, and voicing the character of Candy Cat in the Peppa Pig cartoons.

There are some great young actors on TV these days and I’ve followed from the early years the careers of Alex Lowther and Helen Monks in particular since seeing them at Hampstead Theatre or on TV.

I’m hoping to see Talulah Conabeare treading the boards in Hampstead too before too long.
