Autumn colours in St Petersburg.

Catherine Gardens are adjacent to the Catherine Palace in the St Petersburg suburb of Tsarskoye Selo, where Anna Akhmatova lived in the early 1900s.  There are occasional wistful references to this area in her poetry, including ‘Summer Garden’, which is included in an earlier post here.
